What is the price range for the gowns at The Dress by Nicole?
We try to offer something for all budgets. Our wedding gowns range from just under $1000 up to $6000; our bridesmaids run from $130 to $300; mother's, prom, and special occasion dresses run from $70 to $600; and flower girl, communion, and tween's dresses range from $150 to $250.
Are your gowns all special order, or do you also sell off-the-rack?
Most of our gowns are special order, though we do sell our samples off-the-rack for bridal emergencies. Keep in mind that there is a limit to how many sizes up or down that a dress can be altered. With her background in fashion, Nicole can help you find something that will work. We also offer prom and special occasion gowns off-the-rack as well as special ordering.
Are all of your gowns listed online?
We try to list as many of our designers on our website as possible, however you may find some designers in our store that are too new to be listed. For each of the designers listed, we carry a broad selection of styles, but we might not carry the entire line. We recommend that you follow the links on the Designers page and browse each line on the manufacturer's website. If you see something you like, give us a call and we'll tell you if we carry it in our store. Remember, even if we don't have the dress you're looking for, there may be a trunk show coming up or we can make arrangements to have the dress brought in for you!
What sizes are your samples?
Our sample gowns are generally between size 8 and size 14. Please keep in mind that we are a small boutique and therefore it is impossible for us to stock every size and color. Fortunately, we can clip a dress to give you a good idea of how the gown will look in your size.
When should I start shopping for my wedding?
Usually brides shop for their wedding gown 9 months to a year before their wedding date, as many special order gowns take 4-6 months to come in. Tighter timelines can sometimes be accommodated by buying off-the-rack or by requesting a rush order. Bridesmaid dress shopping is normally done after the wedding gown is purchased about 4-6 months before the wedding. The same goes for mother of the wedding dresses. Flower girls are usually shopped for closer to the wedding because the little girls are growing so fast that they may grow out of the dress if you order too early.
Can I store my dress at The Dress by Nicole until my wedding?
After your gown has been paid for in full, we are happy to store the dress in our shop until your first fitting.
What is a trunk show?
From time to time, we will borrow the rest of a designer's line for a special event called a trunk show. This gives our customers a chance to try on styles that we don't normally carry. During trunk shows we offer a 10% discount on anything ordered from the line we're promoting. Bridal appointments during trunk shows fill up fast, so please make your appointment early.
What is your return/exchange policy?
All sales are final. Please choose carefully!
